week 6

When it comes to music I believe that there are song groups and artist that should not be listened to by children. That is why I believe that record companies should be responsible for putting parental advisories on the music they distribute. The music now and days is full of things that kids should not listen and be exposed to. There is too much of this going on in the movies, shows and even cartoons that the kids watch. The record companies know what kind of music they are distributing and they now the lyrics and their messages that the artist are putting on their songs, so it is up to them to put these parental advisories on the albums. At least that way the parents of the children know what kind of music they are buying their kids.
And I know that some parents do not even care what type of music that they listen to, but that is no excuse for the record companies not to put those parental advisories on the albums. It is up to those record companies to at least try to warn the parents and even prevent kids under seventeen to try to buy the music on their own. At least with this if a young kid goes in to a store and wants to buy an album that there not supposed to the sales clerk cannot be allowed to sell it to him because of the parental advisory. This way some kids will not be exposed to this type of music, and I know it is not going to stop a lot of kids from getting their hands on this type of music, but at least it will prevent some kids from this type of music. And that is a start, and maybe later on they can start to prevent the artist of saying certain things when they want make a new song.
Just think about it if record companies were not made to put these parental advisories on the music they distribute. what type of music will there be now? I think that there will be music that is even filled with more filth than there already is in the current music that these artists make. Just imagine a word with no boundaries when it comes to music. If this happened then almost every single artist would start to talk about everything and anything that they can think of. This should not even be up for discussion; it is something that just has to be done no matter what. It is not an option. Kids are very vulnerable at a young age and music can be somewhat of a big influence on them, it all depends on what type of music they listen to because it can either be a very good influence on them or an extremely bad influence on them. I just cannot stress enough the fact that the record companies need to put parental advisories on the music that they distribute.
